PLAN OF ACTION

We’ve had parents ask “What can I do?” or “Where do I start?” There is no magic formula, but the following is a suggestion and what worked for us:

  • Contact the media.. They were very responsive and eager to cover the story.

  • Send an email to all your contacts informing them about “It’s Your Game”. Link this website.

  • Notify your youth pastors at your local churches about “It’s Your Game”. Link this website.

  • Attend any parent meeting for your school to ask questions and share information with uninformed parents.

  • Call or send an email to every Board member and your Superintendent, voicing your opinion of “It’s Your Game”.

  • Attend the next District Board meeting, and sign up to speak and address the Board. Voice your opinion of “It’s Your Game” and ask for its removal.

  • Call the school district representative for “It’s Your Game”.

  • Attend the next district SHAC meeting. (usually quarterly and posted on district website) Find out how to become a voting member. Ask questions and share information with uninformed parents.

  • Create a facebook page for your school or district where parents can communicate with each other about progress and suggestions. This is the easiest way to share information and unify the group.

  • Call, email and visit Senator Dan Patrick. He has an office in Houston and Austin. He is the Chairman of the Senate Education Committee. He personally assisted Cy Fair parents in removing “It’s Your Game” from CFISD.
